Postdoctoral Research Associate Location: The Living Systems Institute Exeter Hours: Funded for 3 years, 36.5 Salary: GBP Grade E This Postdoctoral Reserach Assocaiate post has risen as a result of a BBSRC grant awarded to Dr Nikolas Nikolaou and is essential to aprogramme to understand the extra-nuclear function of SNRNP70, a major spliceosome protein, inmodulating the axonal transcriptome and regulating neuronal connectivity. You will have a central role in completing an exciting programme of research to determine, validate andcharacterise the axonal RNA processing roles of SNRNP70, using a combination of in vivo zebrafish, ex vivo(primary neuron cultures), and in vitro approaches. More broadly, you will have a responsibility for enablingand supporting the ultimate research aims of the laboratory: to uncover novel molecular and cellularmechanisms that regulate the assembly and function of neural circuits and how such processes are linked toneurological and neurodegenerative conditions in humans.
